Iran Censured.........

The U.N. nuclear watchdog's governing body voted overwhelmingly on Friday to censure Iran for developing a uranium enrichment site in secret, and demanded it freeze the project immediately.
I'm sure they will let this thing escalate into another tense situation. Just what the world needs, another place to start a fight.

I'm sure there are other parent's who would love to be at home with their children, as well. They chose to deploy with their troops to serve duty and provide support of the other troops as well. I understand the child is small, but she knew what she was getting into, when she chose to have a child while in the military.

21 Killed During Hijacked Convoy Attack.....

Philippine elections are particularly violent in the south because of the presence of armed groups, including Muslim rebels fighting for self-rule in the predominantly Roman Catholic nation, and political warlords who maintain private armies.

The decades-long Muslim insurgency has killed about 120,000 people since the 1970s. Dozens of gunmen hijacked a convoy carrying journalists, and family and supporters of a candidate for provincial governor, killing at least 21 of the travelers Monday in the southern Philippines' worst political violence in years.

There was no claim of responsibility for the bloodshed in the predominantly Muslim region wracked by political tensions between rival clans.

An Iranian Stand Off....

The difficulty facing Washington in mustering support for ratcheting up pressure on Iran was already clear in Thursday's statement by a Russian foreign ministry official that, as far as we know, there has been no final official answer from Tehran, and there is currently no discussion on working out additional sanctions against Iran. Friday's Brussels meeting simply reaffirmed disappointment in Iran's failure to embrace the deal thus far, but reiterated the commitment of the Western powers, Russia and China to continue to engage in dialogue with Tehran. A deal under which Iran would export the bulk of its stock of enriched uranium to Russia for conversion into reactor fuel.
Iran hasn't formally responded, but for the Western powers, that's the whole point - the proposed deal was negotiated weeks ago with Iranian representatives in Vienna, and Iran's government was asked to endorse it within a couple of days. But the plan faced a firestorm of criticism from across the political spectrum in Tehran, prompting the government of Iran to back track. Many Iranian leaders suspect the deal is part of a plan to deprive it of the right to enrich uranium on its own soil.

Elderly Suffer........

Here in the DFW area, it’s getting to the point that elderly people can’t go to the grocery store and come home to put up their groceries. Criminals are following them home and when they pull up into their driveways or garages, these idiots attack them as they are trying to get out of their cars. They also ring their door bells, and when the door is answered, shove their way inside and attack the people. The elderly are having a bad enough time surviving in today’s world and then you have the uncaring criminals taking from them because they are too feeble to fight back. There’s nothing left that’s sacred anymore. These are people, who need to be protected, just like the children. I’m worried what will become of us all, with the way the economy is getting.

Senate Opens Hearings.........

While it may be “premature” to link the shootings at the Texas Army base to homegrown radical Islamic terrorism, the incident is similar to other recent incidents at military bases. Unfortunately, this event follows in a line of attacks against military personnel. The threat is now increasingly from within, from homegrown terrorists who are inspired by violent Islamist ideology to plan and execute attacks where they live. Terrorist incidents over the past 12 months show that Islamic extremists within the U.S. increasingly are launching attacks against targets such as military bases.
One goal is to find out how the federal government missed detecting Hasan as a threat.

Iran Pushing It............

Atlantis.....

The space shuttle Atlantis lifted off Monday afternoon Nov. 16, 2009, from Kennedy Space Center's Launch Pad 39-A in Cape Canaveral, Fla. Six astronauts are headed to the international space station on an 11-day mission.

If that wasn't bad enough, the Stupak amendment, forbidding a woman to even use her own money to pay for an abortion, because no plan in the new market will be allowed to provide such a service, even if the plan that woman was forced to buy was paid for with 100% of her own money, is so far out into reactionist wowee-wowee land, it is incredulous that any so-called progressive could have voted for final passage with such a provision in there, especially as they had already SWORN not to support a bill with such a weak joke of a public plan.

So now, and only in response to our outrage, some of them are backtracking, SAYING that draconian anti-choice provision needs to come out of the final bill. Have you ever heard such worthless lip service in your life (apart from their lip service of last week, last month, the year before that, etc.)? Where were the voices of these miserable cowards in Congress, trying to pass themselves off as our progressive representatives, when they voted for FINAL passage in the
first place? Who can count on them to put up a fight even one time any time in the future, if they could and would not do so last week?

And the ultimate answer remains what it has always been. IF AND WHEN enough of us speak out at ONCE, and declare that we will no longer support their perpetual shinola, then and only then will we get real policy change. We live for the day when we can build such a base to make it so. That day can be today! So please submit the fax action page once a week, encourage everyone you know to do the same, put the video module on all of your websites so we can get hundreds of thousands of views, and like numbers of action page submissions. Then we will have a real movement for real policy change.

Damn the Crap.......It Just Keeps Coming.......

Military criminal investigators continue to refer to Hasan as the only suspect in the shootings Thursday but won't say when charges would be filed. Hasan, who was shot by civilian police to end the rampage, was in critical but stable condition at an Army hospital in San Antonio. He was breathing on his own after being taken off a ventilator on Saturday, but officials won't say whether Hasan can communicate.
At least 16 victims remained hospitalized with gunshot wounds Sunday, and seven were in intensive care.

On Nov. 9, 1989, East Germans came in droves, riding their sputtering Trabants, motorcycles and rickety bicycles. Hundreds, then thousands, then hundreds of thousands crossed over the following days.

Why......?

A soldier opened fire at a U.S. Army base in Fort Hood, TX on Thursday, unleashing a stream of gunfire that left 12 people dead and 31 wounded. Authorities killed the gunman, and apprehended two other soldiers suspected in what appears to be the worst mass shooting at a U.S. military base.

The shooting began around 1:30 p.m., Lt. Gen. Bob Cone said at a news conference. He said all the casualties took place at the base's Soldier Readiness Center, where soldiers who are about to be deployed or who are returning undergo medical screening.

Obama said Monday that the US economy will continue to lose jobs in coming months despite exiting a recession, striking a cautious tone on unemployment.

Obama's honeymoon with the American people lasted less than six months. But the fall was soon to come as questions started simmering about the president's ability to pull the US economy out of a nosedive.
