It seems we the people are falling victim to these products yearly. If there isn't an outbreak of this kind on plants that we eat, then it's in the processed food we eat. A peanut processing plant in Texas run by the same company blamed for a national salmonella outbreak operated for years uninspected and unlicensed by government health officials. Peanut Corp. of America plant in Plainview, Texas never was inspected until after the company fell under investigation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, according to Texas health records.
Cartons of eggs. An outbreak of salmonella has sickened at least 388 people across the United States, including 67 who required hospitalization, health officials said. The CDC has said that salmonella, which can be fatal, especially in children, remains a "major public health problem in the United States." Eggs and cheese are among the foods most likely to be contaminated, the agency said.
