A British soldier from 3 SCOTS cleans his rifle in a Taliban-held area of Afghanistan's Helmand province during operation Panther's Claw, July 11, 2009. British troops have faced heavy fighting during the operation, a bid to clear out Taliban-held areas north of the provincial capital Lashkar Gah, while U.S. Marines stage a massive operation of their own further south.
In this article, I read that the British people, may decide that the efforts being made in this area, isn't worth all the causalities. This may lead them to decide to step down from this Afghanistan operation and pull their men out. I'm sure if this happens, there may be other countries follow suit. I suppose time will tell whether the newspaper that was writing this article, can determine what their people will do in the long run.
